One Small Detail

August 13, 2014

Relapsing Polychondritis is a part of my life — a real part.  I think about it every day.  It determines my energy level, how I spend my time, how I spend my money.  Every pain, every spot, every moment of discomfort — I have to wonder where this disease is taking me next.  What will it do to my body?  How much longer will I have this quality of life?

Having said all of that, Relapsing Polychondritis is only a part of my life, and a small part at that.

  • I am a wife.  I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for decades.
  • I am a mother.  I have two grown children who are happily living independent lives.  I am thrilled that they let me be a part of their lives.
  • I am a grandmother.  If you have grandchildren, you understand how complete my life is.
  • I have a career.  I love what I do and I am passionate about it.
  • I have friends.  God has gifted me with some of the best friends a gal could ever have.
  • I have a church family.  I am breathless with gratitude for them.  If you aren’t a part a church family, you are missing the richest part of life.
  • I have a relationship with God.  I would not be able to live day-by-day without Him.

I’m off to enjoy my day and my life — all of the parts of it.
