Stopped Short

October 22, 2013

I was spending some time today in the Word and was reading in Acts.

Acts 20:24
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me — the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”

These are the words of Paul, not my words.

Selfishly, I consider my life worth a lot to me.  My worries today are because I don’t want my plans for my future disrupted.  I am content when my plans and God’s plans coincide, but I cannot honestly say that I’m looking forward to having my plans changed by a new diagnosis and course of treatment.

May Paul’s words be true in my heart, whatever the outcome of tomorrow’s tests.
